Chris Nichols

Dr Chris Nichols

Dr Chris Nichols is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with extensive experience in the management of fertility. He is a UWA graduate and practised for many years as a general practitioner before specialising. When not at Fertility Specialists South, he works at SJOG Hospital Murdoch. He is an examiner with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, director of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at SJOG Hospital Murdoch and an adjunct senior lecturer at Notre Dame’s School of Medicine in Fremantle.


Krish Karthigasu

Dr Krish Karthigasu is a Gynaecologist with specialist training and experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery for fertility and endometriosis. He graduated from UWA, completed his specialist training in Perth, Melbourne and UK, and then underwent post fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopic Surgery with the Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre and the Centre for Advanced Reproductive Endosurgery in Sydney. He is currently Consultant Gynaecologist & Gynaecological Laparoscopic Surgeon at KEMH, and Head of Gynaecology Endoscopy at KEMH. Other appointments include Clinical Senior Lecturer in Gynaecology at UWA. Dr. Karthigasu has now commenced practice at Fertility Specialists South providing assisted reproduction and fertility management and surgery.


Roger Hart

Professor Hart is the Medical Director of Fertility Specialists of WA. He is also the Professor at the School of Women’s and Infants Health, UWA. He qualified from the University of London in 1989. In 2002 he was awarded sub-specialty accreditation in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, UK, and in 2003 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of London. He commenced work at UWA in 2003 and is the lead clinician for the infertility and reproductive medicine clinic at King Edward Memorial Hospital. He recently qualified in the Australian specialty area of reproductive medicine, endocrinology and infertility. He has interests in all aspects of infertility, but particularly polycystic ovarian syndrome, endocrine disorders and adolescent gynaecology.

Stephen Junk

Dr Stephen Junk
BSc PhD

Dr Junk is the Scientific Director of Fertility Specialists of WA. He graduated with a Science degree from UWA in 1981. Dr Junk has worked at a senior level in a number of IVF centres world-wide and completed his PhD in the area of “in vitro oocyte maturation” in 2002. He is currently a committee member of SIRT (Scientists in Reproductive Technology), Board member of the Fertility Society of Australia, a committee member of RTAC (Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee), member of the Technical Experts committee for ART, and a member of the NH&MRC Embryo Research Licensing Committee. He has particular interests in IVM (in vitro oocyte maturation), male infertility and Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis.
